Adobe has launched its highly anticipated AI-powered video generation tool, Generate Video, in public beta. Available to all users through the Firefly web app, this innovative tool is powered by Adobe’s Firefly Video Model, which was first previewed in September 2024. Alongside this launch, Adobe has also revamped the Firefly web app, enhancing user experience by showcasing its array of generative AI tools more prominently.
Generate Video: Adobe’s First AI Video Tool
Generate Video marks Adobe’s debut in end-to-end AI-powered video creation. The tool accepts both text prompts and image inputs, generating 1080p resolution videos at 24 frames per second. Currently, it supports videos up to five seconds long. Adobe offers advanced customization, allowing users to control camera angles, motion, shooting distances, art styles, and other cinematographic elements. Users can also lock the first and last frames for continuity and maintain color and character consistency.
Looking ahead, Adobe plans to introduce a lower-resolution ideation model and a 4K production model. Leading brands like PepsiCo, Stagwell, and Dentsu are already using Generate Video for real-world applications.
Firefly Web App Redesign
Launched in 2023, the Firefly web app has now been redesigned to enhance navigation and accessibility. The updated interface centralizes Adobe’s generative AI tools, making it easier for users to find and utilize them. Additionally, Firefly is now seamlessly integrated with Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
Adobe emphasizes that Firefly AI models are trained on public domain data and licensed content, ensuring they are “IP-friendly” and safe for commercial use.
New Firefly Tools and Features
Alongside Generate Video, Adobe introduced two other tools:
- Scene to Image: Generates high-quality images from 3D sketches and reference shapes. Users can adjust angles and perspectives to achieve the desired outcome.
- Translate Audio/Translate Video: Translates audio and video content into over 20 languages while preserving the original speaker’s voice.
Unlike Generate Video, these tools are not free to use.
New Subscription Plans
Adobe also announced two new Firefly subscription plans:
- Firefly Standard: Priced at $9.99 per month, it includes 2,000 video and audio credits, allowing up to 20 five-second video generations.
- Firefly Pro: Available for $29.99 per month, offering 7,000 credits and up to 70 five-second video generations.
Both plans include unlimited access to Firefly’s imaging and vector features, giving users enhanced creative flexibility.
With these new offerings, Adobe continues to push the boundaries of AI-driven creativity, solidifying its position as a leader in digital content creation.
