GM’s Cadillac has introduced its newest electric vehicle, the Vistiq, a three-row luxury SUV that’s already being dubbed the “baby Escalade.” This full-size, seven-seater SUV joins Cadillac’s lineup of electric vehicles (EVs) and is designed with affluent buyers in mind. It runs on GM’s Ultium platform and features dual electric motors, delivering an estimated 300 miles of range on a single charge. The Vistiq also comes packed with premium features, including a 32-speaker AKG sound system, massaging seats, and retractable second-row seating.
According to Cadillac’s global VP, John Roth, the Vistiq expands Cadillac’s EV portfolio, catering to customers across various market segments. The company showcased all its electric models, from the entry-level Optiq to the $300,000 custom-built Celestiq sedan, at its new showroom in Manhattan. Currently, the Lyriq and Celestiq are on sale, with the Optiq and Escalade IQ expected by late 2024, while the Vistiq is scheduled for release in early 2025 at a starting price of $78,790.
Roth emphasized Cadillac’s approach to offering EVs tailored to different customer needs: smaller models like the Optiq and Lyriq for singles or small families, and larger SUVs like the Vistiq and Escalade for bigger families. Cadillac’s top-tier Celestiq serves the ultra-premium market.
Notably, Cadillac has revised its earlier commitment to an all-electric lineup by 2030, citing slower EV adoption rates in the U.S. in recent years. Instead, the brand remains focused on aligning its offerings with consumer preferences and demand.
