Mercedes-Benz has announced a significant leadership change within its North American division. Effective July 1, Adam Chamberlain will step into the role of CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) and Head of Marketing and Sales for Mercedes-Benz Cars North America, taking over from Dimitris Psillakis, who will move into a new position as Senior Strategic Adviser.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Adam back to Mercedes-Benz,” said Mathias Geisen, Member of the Board of Management, Mercedes-Benz Group AG, Marketing & Sales. “He brings over three decades of global automotive expertise, including nine years in the U.S. market. Adam’s deep industry knowledge and strong relationships across teams, dealer networks, and customers make him an ideal choice to lead MBUSA into its next chapter. Alongside Jason Hoff, our newly appointed CEO of Mercedes-Benz North America, Adam will help steer our strategic direction and future growth. We also thank Dimitris for his remarkable leadership and are pleased that his expertise will continue to guide us through the end of the year in his advisory role.”
Dimitris Psillakis has been with Mercedes-Benz for 33 years, serving in key leadership roles across Europe, South America, and Asia. As Head of Sales for North America since late 2020, he has led the brand through a volatile market shaped by supply chain disruptions and rapid technological evolution. His leadership has been instrumental in advancing Mercedes-Benz’s digital customer experience, strengthening dealer partnerships, and pushing forward the company’s electrification roadmap through the launch of several EV and plug-in hybrid models in the region.
In his upcoming advisory role, Psillakis will support strategic initiatives and collaborate with the leadership team to ensure a smooth transition through the end of 2024.
Adam Chamberlain, who returns to Mercedes-Benz, brings a wealth of leadership experience across the automotive sector. Most recently, he served as EVP and COO of Lithia & Driveway, overseeing operations for over 300 U.S. dealerships with revenues surpassing $30 billion. Previously, he was President of Aston Martin The Americas and served as Vice President of Sales and Product Management at MBUSA from 2016 to 2021, where he played a vital role in developing retail and product strategies for the U.S. market.
Known for his collaborative leadership and results-driven mindset, Chamberlain will oversee more than 1,600 MBUSA employees and over 380 U.S. dealer partners, in addition to 200 staff and 59 dealers in Canada. He currently resides in Atlanta with his family.
This executive transition underscores Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to strong leadership, innovation, and sustained growth in North America. Under Chamberlain’s guidance, MBUSA is poised to build on its legacy and lead confidently into the future.
