Women are the largest untapped reservoir of talent in the world.” This quote from Hillary Clinton encapsulates the powerful potential women hold in shaping the future of our societies. Today, as women break barriers and redefine leadership across industries, their stories of resilience and innovation serve as beacons of inspiration.

Zarine Manchandaa, an exemplary entrepreneur and philanthropist, embodies this transformation. From her beginnings in a prominent political family to her diverse achievements in philanthropy, business, and politics, Zarine’s journey is a testament to the boundless possibilities that arise when vision and determination meet at crossroads.

A Journey Rooted in Vision and Ambition

Zarine Manchandaa was born into a prominent political family near Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, where the spiritual aura of the Dalai Lama profoundly influenced her early life.

This upbringing, combined with the guidance of her father, a successful businessman and politician, laid the foundation for her aspirations. Following her university education, Zarine moved to Mumbai with dreams of becoming an actress. However, the competitive glamour industry presented its challenges, prompting a pivotal career shift that would see her embrace a new path as a philanthropist and an entrepreneur.

A Philanthropic Legacy

In 2019, Zarine founded the Zarine Manchandaa Foundation in Aarey Colony, Mumbai. This initiative was born out of her desire to create a lasting impact and build her own political base.

The foundation quickly gained recognition, administering over 500 food and clothing donation programs in just two years despite the disruptions caused by COVID-19 lockdowns. This commitment to aiding the underprivileged earned Zarine the affectionate title of “Princess of the Poor” by the media, drawing parallels to her inspirations, Princess Diana and Mother Teresa.

Zarine’s philanthropic efforts have not gone unnoticed. She is a two-time National Award winner, having been honored for her extraordinary work in serving India’s neediest populations.

In recognition of her tireless dedication, she received the prestigious Nelson Mandela Peace Award, which conferred upon her a Doctorate Degree. Her contributions continued to garner accolades, including awards from the All-India Council on Human Rights & Social Justice and the Times of India, where she was named a Young Philanthropist in 2021.

Pioneering the 7-Star Experience

Parallel to her charitable endeavors, Zarine ventured into the hospitality industry, launching the Zarine Manchanda Café in Mumbai. This luxurious café, with its slogan “Delicious, Luxurious Spiritual Charm,” offers patrons a unique experience, blending stylish décor with spiritual elements such as blessings and Tibetan bells from Dharamshala.

As the founder of the 7-star café experience in India, Zarine has set her sights on expanding the brand both nationally and internationally, positioning it as a global franchising brand.

Her entrepreneurial spirit did not stop at the café. In 2022, Zarine launched Heavenly Flavors, a 7-star cloud kitchen and food delivery service, along with Zarine Manchanda Premium Security Service, making her the first woman to own a security services business in India.

Her ventures continued to grow with the opening of Flavors of Himachal Pradesh, Mumbai’s first 7-star restaurant offering authentic Himachali cuisine. This restaurant, renowned for its traditional Dham Thali, showcases Zarine’s dedication to preserving and promoting her cultural heritage.

Media Recognition and Leadership Roles

Zarine’s dynamic career and impactful contributions have earned her significant media attention. She has graced the cover of Femina magazine, being named one of the “Fabulous 50 Women,” and recognized as one of India Today’s “45 Most Influential Indians” in 2020.

Her growing influence in both business and social spheres led to her appointment as Regional Director in Mumbai for BRICS, a prestigious geopolitical and economic trade organization. This role, conferred by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in December 2021, underscores her commitment to fostering international trade and economic growth.

Further solidifying her leadership credentials, Zarine was appointed Chairperson & Editor in Chief for the National Council of News & Broadcasting in Maharashtra, Himachal Pradesh, and Goa in 2023. This position places her at the forefront of crucial discussions on press freedom, media reforms, and human rights, showcasing her ability to navigate complex issues with insight and integrity.

Championing Change for Mumbai’s Poorest

With her extensive experience in philanthropy and business, Zarine launched the Zarine Manchanda People’s Party, aiming to contest elections in Mumbai’s Andheri West area in April 2024.

Her political party is a testament to her vision of using her platform to drive positive change, particularly for the city’s poorest residents. As a respected social activist and Champion of the Poor, Zarine intends to leverage her influence to address pressing social issues and empower the marginalized.

A Legacy of Empowerment and Innovation

Zarine Manchandaa’s journey is a remarkable testament to the power of resilience, vision, and unwavering commitment to societal betterment. Her multifaceted career, spanning philanthropy, business, and politics, exemplifies how one woman’s determination can create ripples of change across multiple domains.
